It can be applied and changed in seconds \u2013 the standard design for measurements on awake adults.<\/p>\n<p>A SpO<sub>2<\/sub>The sensor illuminates the tissue with red and infrared light. Because oxygen-rich and oxygen-poor hemoglobin absorb the two wavelengths to different degrees, the monitor calculates the saturation level.
