It temporarily secures the airway when intubation is not possible or not intended, and is used in emergency medical services as well as in hospitals.<\/p>\n<p>The distinguishing feature of the second generation is the drainage channel: it runs separately from the ventilation pathway and accommodates a gastric tube up to 18 Fr. All sizes of the LTS-D include this channel. Ventilation itself is delivered via several openings between the two cuffs.<\/p>\n<p>The cuffs are thin-walled, low-pressure cuffs and are vented via a common port. The connector and accompanying syringe are the same color, ensuring consistency in size and filling volume. A toothed marking on the tube indicates the insertion depth and serves as a reference point for readjustment.<\/p>\n<p>Size 4 covers the average adult range and is the most commonly available size in emergency medical services.<\/p>\n<p>Sterilely packaged, for single use, one unit per box.
