The foam dressing consists of a polyurethane foam core with a silicone adhesive layer facing the wound and a PU film as the outer layer. The foam absorbs the exudate, the silicone layer adheres to the surrounding skin, and the film, according to the manufacturer, forms a barrier against external germs.
