Das boso ABI-System misst den Blutdruck an beiden Armen und beiden Beinen gleichzeitig und bildet daraus den Knöchel-Arm-Index – den Quotienten aus Knöchel- und Armdruck. Weil alle vier Manschetten zur selben Zeit arbeiten, dauert die Messung nur wenige Minuten und die vier Werte stammen aus demselben Kreislaufzustand.
Die Größe richtet sich nach dem gemessenen Umfang. Eine unpassende Manschettenbreite gehört zu den bekannten Fehlerquellen der nicht-invasiven Blutdruckmessung – beim ABI wirkt sie sich auf beide Seiten des Quotienten aus.
Die Manschette wird ohne Schlauch geliefert. Die Schlauchverbindung gehört zur Messstelle und wird danach gewählt: rot für den rechten Oberarm, gelb für den linken, schwarz für das rechte Bein, grün für das linke.
Dies ist die größte Armmanschette der Reihe – die Wahl, wenn die 22-bis-42-cm-Manschette sich nicht mehr sauber schließen lässt.
