The LTS-D laryngeal tube from VBM Medical is a second-generation supraglottic airway device. It temporarily secures the airway when intubation is not possible or not intended, and is used in emergency medical services as well as in hospitals.
The distinguishing feature of the second generation is the drainage channel: it runs separately from the ventilation pathway and accommodates a gastric tube up to 18 Fr. All sizes of the LTS-D include this channel. Ventilation itself is delivered via several openings between the two cuffs.
The cuffs are thin-walled, low-pressure cuffs and are vented via a common port. The connector and accompanying syringe are the same color, ensuring consistency in size and filling volume. A toothed marking on the tube indicates the insertion depth and serves as a reference point for readjustment.
Size 2 is based on baby size; the determining factor is body weight, not age.
