SpO2-Disposable sensor for Philips, adults

For patients weighing 30 kg or more.

The size of the sensor determines its relationship to the transmitter and receiver. If the sensor is too loose or too tight, the signal suffers – therefore, the selection is based on weight, not age.

Disposable sensors remain with the patient and are discharged with them. This eliminates reprocessing and avoids the route a reusable sensor takes from bed to bed.

A SpO2The sensor illuminates the tissue with red and infrared light. Because oxygen-rich and oxygen-poor hemoglobin absorb the two wavelengths to different degrees, the monitor calculates the saturation level. This requires a well-vascularized measurement site and a sensor that neither presses nor slips.

D-shaped connector, 8-pin. It fits directly onto the monitors listed below; an adapter cable is required for other Philips devices.
