FlexiPort is Welch Allyn's connection system: the cuff and hose are separate parts. The port on the cuff is the same for all sizes, so the same hose is used when the cuff size changes – and the same cuff runs on a single- or dual-hose connection.
The size is determined by arm circumference, not age. An unsuitable cuff width is a known source of error in non-invasive blood pressure measurement – therefore, the measured circumference is the determining factor. At the borderline between two sizes, the actual measured value is decisive.
Size 12 is the choice when size 11 no longer closes cleanly on the upper arm.
